Experience
Diego Licio is the Partner responsible for the Advisory Department of Grant Thornton Uruguay and works for Grant Thornton Uruguay since its foundation. Before joining the Advisory team, he led the Tax Compliance, Accounting and Outsourcing and Tax Advisory departments of the firm.
His practice includes, within the Advisory Department: leader of the "Advisory Services" practice which includes: Transactional Advisory Services, Business Risk Services; Business Consulting; Forensic, among others. For more than 20 years he served as an advisor in international tax structuring, tax advice of local and foreign companies, as well as non-resident individuals. Within the practice of tax advice, he specialized in preferential tax regimes such as Free Zone, Free Port, Customs Deposits, Free Shops, international merchandise and services intermediation regimes, legal and tax advice on trusts and foundations, to an extensive client portfolio local and region.

Diego is a Certified Public Accountant from the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the UDELAR (1993) and has a Master in Tax Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Montevideo - UM (2011).
He is a member of the Uruguayan Institute of Tax Studies.
