Experience
Sofia Harguindeguy works in the Advisory Department as a Manager of the Economic Advisory Team. She specializes in quantitative research methods for decision making, and antitrust.
Previously, she worked as a consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank in the management, monitoring and evaluation of the portfolio in Uruguay, and supported the IDB LAB, IDB's innovation lab, to drive innovation and co-create solutions from the private sector.
She also worked as an economic advisor in the Ministry of Economy and Finance for the Commission for the Defense and Promotion of Competition; and as a consultant for the United Nations in the evaluation of macroeconomic models for the measurement of the impact of environmental and climate change policies.
She has academic experience as a lecturer at the University of the Republic and at the University of Montevideo.

Sofía holds a MSc Economics and Finance from Pompeu Fabra University. She holds a Master Degree in Economics from Universidad de Montevideo.
Lecturer in Industrial Organization at the University of Montevideo (2020-2021).
Lecturer in Microeconomics, University of Montevideo (2015-2017)
Lecturer of Introduction to Microeconomics at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the UDELAR (20219-2020).
